Jonathan Shaw wins asylum case for Mexican Human Rights Attorney

Attorney Jonathan Shaw represented a human rights attorney from Mexico who was forced to leave her country in fear of losing her life. Francisca Galvan represented women who lost their daughters to violence. She represented her client's interests at the highest levels of government, and her life was threatened as a result. Ms. Galvan won asylum and is now a Permanent Resident in the United States.

Stay of Removal Granted

An Immigration Judge ordered a Guatemalan Woman to be removed from the United States. Attorney Jonathan Shaw was successful in requesting special permission from ICE for her to remain in the United States known as a Stay of Removal. The case received attention in the national Spanish-speaking media.
